Tyrannosaurus

The scary one your parents have heard of

Probably the most famous dinosaur species of all, tyrannosaurus roamed the earth during the late cretaceous period.

The tyrannosaurus was a fearsome hunter, with possibly the strongest bite of any land animal ever to have existed, able to rip through almost anything in its way with a force equivalent to 7 tonnes of pressure. Combined with razer sharp teeth, the tyranosaurus was truly a force to be reckoned.

Despite possessing such an attacking arsenal, being a tyrannosaurus was a dangerous life. Hunting large prey and squabbling amongst themselves meant that many tyrannosaurus failed to survive to reach old age (around 30 years).

"Tyrannosaurus lived closer in time to the present day than they did to the time of the Stegosaurus. They're still dinosaurs though."
