With its three horns and distinctive neck frill, triceratops is one of the most easily recognisable dinosaurs. With its two brow horns measuring 1.2m in length, triceratops is thought to have the longest horns of all dinosaurs.
The thick skull of the triceratops would have been able to withstand some heavy impacts, indicating that its horns may have been effective defensive weapons. The neck frill may also have performed a defensive role, although it's more likely that was used to attract potential mates.
"Triceratops was a solid defensive unit. A bit like Dan Burn."
