Mosasurus was an aquatic reptile which lived during the late cretaceous period. It had four flipper-like fins and a strong tail, which allowed it to swim both over long distances and with short bursts of speed.
With flexible jaws and a double row of teeth, moasaurus had a varied diet. Evidence has been found to show that it consumed fish, turtles and ammonites.
The first mosasaurus remains were found in 1774, in a limestone quarry in Maastrict, the Netherlands
"Mosasaurus weighed more than a double decker bus."
