Eoraptor

The name which sound like a donkey bray

One of the more recent discoveries (late 1980's), eoraptor is one of the earliest known species of dinosaur, thought to live in the late triassic period. It was first discovered in Argentina by paleontologist Paul Sereno.

Eoraptor is likely to have been omnivorous, with varied teeth indicating an ability to break down a variety of food sources. They also possessed sharp claws to either hold or slash at prey.

Despite seeming small compared to other theropods, eoraptor would likely have been similar in size to other species which lived during the same period.

"Despite being known as the 'dawn thief', no eoraptor has ever been convicted of any criminal offence in a court of law."
