Day 10

Today was the second day of my dinokeeper training. It was great catching up with Prof. Crubbin again, and telling him all about how work on my sanctuary is getting on.

The day was split into two parts, with the morning session based on finishing our raptor studies. As part of this, we were introduced to another three dinosaurs: a velociraptor called Nibbles, an ankylosaurus called Alex and a tyrannosaurus called Roary.

In the afternoon I finally got to find out who Prof. Crubbin was referring to on the phone the previous week. It was Prof. Art Gilbert, the world leading expert on tyrannosaurus! What a brilliant surprise!

Prof Gilbert is quite the character. He has a baby tyrannosaurus which he keeps on his shoulder. I guess he won't keep it his shoulder for long, in a few years times it be so big it would crush him!

He taught us the safest way to hold a baby tyrannosaurus and the best way to stay clear of an adult. Apparently staying clear of the adults is really important to remember. REALLY important.

At the end of the lesson he told us about a time that had the opportunity to ride a deinonychus. It sounds so much fun, I hope I get the chance to do it one day!

I better go now, Nibbles is hungry and it's my job to feed him tonight. Bye for now.
